As a counselor, my primary task is to help clients gain insights, let go of obstacles, and learn new skills in order to re-connect, re-integrate, create inner peace, improve resiliency, improve quality of life, and reach desired goals. Together, we explore subconscious programming, trauma, and mind-body interactions. I incorporate CBT, MI, and ACT along with utilizing and teaching clients: somatic awareness, hypnosis, mind-body awareness, and mindfulness-based techniques. We also practice the use of imagery, breathwork, awareness of body and thoughts, dream analysis, gratitude, meditation, intention, prayer, and faith when appropriate.
I have an M.A. in Psychology & Counseling from St. Mary’s University in MN. I understand, honor, and work with all Christian denominations, any branches of Judaism, and any of the Eastern traditions; I specialize in working with clients who are interested in or practice these spiritual, religious, or philosophical traditions. I also work with married couples or family members who are serious about re-connecting and healing. I believe that discomfort and pain are signs (from the subconscious mind, body, or soul) that present us with an opportunity for making a change. I am working towards the LPCC license.
